Why is AuctionsPlus asking for information after I successfully purchase from a Stud Sale?

Successful online buyers will now be prompted to provide further details to help coordinate payment, delivery/collection and the provision of associated services post-sale.

Summary

AuctionsPlus have enhanced our Special Sale service even further to streamline post-sale activity and information collection, which enable more seamless transactions.

What details will I be requested to provide?

Upon scheduling a Stud Sale with AuctionsPlus, the selling agent selects from the list below which details they will require from successful buyers. These details will be used by the selling agent to streamline the post-sale administration required to ensure safe delivery of the purchased livestock.

Some details will always be mandatory (e.g. Buyers contact details), whilst others will be selected by the selling agent from a list of available details (as shown below). To minimise the burden on the buyer and improve the consistency of responses, the buyer may apply responses across multiple lots.

When do I provide these details?

The buyer of a stud sale will be offered multiple opportunities to provide required information. These are:

More details on how to provide details as shown below:

After a successful lot purchase (During an auction)

Within the bidding screen and upon the completion of a successful purchase, the bidder will be offered a prompt (as below) mid-auction. However, buyers are not obliged to provide the details at this stage and can easily defer to a more convenient time.

Buyer - Successful Lot

At the end of an auction

Once the auction is completed, or upon selecting ‘Exit’ buyers will arrive to the Auction Exit page. Successful bidders will be offered a summary of all lots purchased and the opportunity to provide details.

Buyer - End of Auction

From the Buyer's User Dashboard

If during, or after, the auction is not convenient, the successful buyer may also provide details from the User Dashboard that every AuctionsPlus user is provided within the platform.

How will I provide these details?

Upon choosing to provide the requested details at one of the opportunities above the successful buyer will be presented a dedicated interface designed to minimise effort and eliminate data input duplication. This screen (as below) will list all purchased lots and their purchase details. If the buyer prefers to work directly with the selling agent they may choose to select ‘Request a Call’ instead.

Buyer - Overview page for successful purchases

Selecting ‘Submit your Details’ the Successful Buyer will be presented with the list of questions that the Selling Agent has requested. As not all responses can be applied to all lots, especially if the buyer is bidding on behalf of multiple end-purchasers, the buyer can select which individual lots the provided details are to be applied to.

Buyer - Buyer Details Form

📝 To support data privacy controls, buyers will be asked to confirm that supplied information may be shared.

What will this information be used for?

Each of the details requested services a direct need of the selling agent in either arranging delivery, ensuring your transport or insurance needs are met, or arranging for the welfare of the purchased livestock. Buyers will be asked to authorise AuctionsPlus to use and share this information.

What if I’d prefer not to provide this information?

As a successful bidder, you are not mandated to provide these requested details. If you wish not to supply these details via the AuctionsPlus form, the selling agent will revert to the traditional process of the agent contacting you directly - typically by phone in the period directly post-sale.

It’s important to note that not providing these details via the AuctionsPlus form does not relieve the buyer of their obligation to the transaction as detailed within the AuctionsPlus User Agreement.

Important Considerations

It is important to note the following when selecting to automatically prompt successful buyers for post-bid information

  1. Information is only requested from successful bidders. No information is requested from, or provided by, underbidders or viewers.

  2. Only those questions selected will be prompted to successful bidders

  3. Successful bidders are ‘not’ mandated to provide requested details. A lack of response by a successful buyer does not relieve the buyer of their obligation to the transaction as detailed within the AuctionsPlus User Agreement

  4. Successful bidders will be offered the option to ‘Request a call from selling agent’

  5. When requesting information from successful buyers, all care is taken NOT to impede buyers from further bidding and engaging with the sale.

  6. Responses are provided independently by successful buyers and, as such, AuctionsPlus takes no responsibility for the accuracy of provided information. It remains the selling agents responsibility to verify all provided information.
