Having trouble with 'what best describes this Lot?'

What best describes this lot - is a marketing opportunity when listing your Assessment.

The options available depend on the STOCK CODE details selected on Page 1 of your assessment.

Cattle options include:

Mixed sex vealers, weaned steers, backgrounder heifers, future breeder yearling heifers, trade steers, PTIC cows, NSM cows & calves

Sheep options include:

SIL ewes, NSM ewes, export wethers, trade lambs, mixed sex store lambs, future breeder ewe lambs…

Frequent questions & scenario's:

  • It's asking for a shearing date, but these are lambs?
    • Check your stock category is selected as lambs - not ewes or wethers. After selecting lambs, you have the option to select the sex
  • I can't get the PTIC/SIL label?
    • For stock to be marketed as PTIC or SIL - the consignment must be 100% in lamb or in calf
  • I need to nominate dentition greater than milk teeth in cattle, but don't have that option?
    • Check your stock category isn't selected as weaner or yearling. These categories will only allow milk teeth for dentition

Remember, that stock codes including lambs, yearlings, weaners etc. contain a second drop-down which allows you to nominate the sex of the lot on your assessment.
