How do I create a Brahman herd bull listing?

Overview

The Northern Herd Bull Sale is a dedicated online auction for Brahman herd bulls. As a livestock agent, you create and manage listings on behalf of your vendor clients using a listing form and upload spreadsheet. Bulls are listed using purpose-built herd bull specifications developed in collaboration with the Australian Brahman Breeders Association (ABBA), so every listing is accurate, consistent, and easy for buyers to compare.

Key Dates

Listing close:  22 July 2026

Auction runs: 27 July - 3 August 2026

Before you start

You will need the following before creating a listing:

  • AuctionsPlus Cattle Assessor accreditation or Delivery Agent accreditation. If you aren't already an accredited Cattle Assessor, you'll need to complete the Delivery Agent Exam before you can list. Find out how to become accredited HERE.
  • The Northern Brahman Herd Bull listing form. Download HERE
  • The Herd Bull spreadsheet. Download HERE.
  • Quality photos for each lot. At least one clear, well-lit landscape image per bull, taken in a yard or laneway with a clean background. Each photo must be matched to the correct lot.
  • Bull details from your vendor. Including breed information, structure scores, fertility results, temperament data, and a short description. The more complete the information, the more confidence buyers will have.

Step 1 — Confirm your client has registered with ABBA

  • All vendors wishing to list must pre-register their intention with ABBA. Ask that your client visits the ABBA information webpage (HERE) and completes the AuctionsPlus Herd Bull Nomination form.

Step 2 — Review the Northern Brahman Herd Bull listing form

  • Download and print the Northern Brahman Herd Bull listing form to complete at on farm inspection.

  • The form covers two sections: the main listing details and a score sheet for structure and temperament assessments.

  • Make sure all mandatory fields (marked with *) are filled in. Incomplete forms may delay your listing.

Step 3 — Complete the Herd Bull spreadsheet

  • Download and open the spreadsheet template and enter each lot into its own row.

  • Do not feel obliged to complete a fresh form for each animal - it is more important that each animal’s details are captured in a new row in the Herd Bull spreadsheet.

Important:

  • All mandatory find are identified in bold and must be completed.
  • Label photos by bull name or ID.
  • You can include multiple vendors in a single spreadsheet or submit one spreadsheet per vendor. Make sure no lot is duplicated across sheets.

Step 4 — Submit your Herd Bull spreadsheet

  • Email your completed Herd Bull spreadsheet and photos to ABBA - manager@brahman.com.au
  • ABBA will verify your lots against the vendor nominations and provide all vendors bulls to AuctionsPlus. (The catalogue will be updated until the listing close date, 22 July 2026)

Step 5 — Review and manage your listings

Once your listings have been processed, visit your AuctionsPlus Dashboard to:

  • Review listings — Check that all details and photos are correct before the final catalogue is published.
  • Update listings — Make changes to lot details if needed prior to catalogue close.
  • Manage post-sale settlement — Process sale outcomes and settlement through the dashboard after the auction.

Frequently asked questions

Can I list bulls from multiple vendors in one spreadsheet?
Yes. You can combine multiple vendors into a single spreadsheet — just ensure each lot appears only once and is clearly attributed to the correct vendor.

What photo format and quality is required?
Photos should be clear, well-lit, and taken from a broadside angle. Avoid cluttered backgrounds — a yard or laneway works best. Accepted formats include JPG and PNG.

Can I update a listing after submitting?
Yes. You can review and update your listings via your AuctionsPlus Dashboard at any time before the catalogue closes on 22 July 2026.

What if my vendor doesn't have fertility or structure data?
All mandatory fields must be completed for a listing to be published. If your vendor is missing required data, contact our team to discuss options before submitting.
