How do I become an AuctionsPlus Assessor?

In order for stock to be listed on AuctionsPlus, they must be assessed by an accredited Assessor. Assessor Accreditation is attained by attending an AuctionsPlus Assessor School and completing parallel assessments with an accredited, training endorsed Assessor, and finally completing an Accreditation exam.

1) Parallel Assessments

  • A parallel assessment is a field assessment on livestock, conducted alongside an Accredited Assessor on the system, as part of your training.
  • To complete a parallel, this means attending the assessment for a lot(s) which are being assessed and listed for sale on the AuctionsPlus platform. These assessments will be entered under the Accredited Assessor’s name, with the parallel Assessor’s name included on the assessment.
  • As of the 1st January, 2021 a minimum of EIGHT (8) parallel assessments (per species) must be completed across a variety of stock categories.
  • Parallel assessments are only valid if completed alongside suitably experienced Accredited Assessor – who must hold either a Level 2 or Level 1 Accreditation with AuctionsPlus.
  • Your FINAL parallel assessment must be completed with a Level 1 Assessor, who is endorsed to sign off your application.
  • Only parallel assessments that were completed within 3 years from the time of your application will be accepted
  • It is the responsibility of the trainee to retain records of their parallel assessments
  • Our Search for a Livestock Assessor feature is available if required.
  • You must have completed a minimum of ONE (1) parallel prior to attending an AuctionsPlus Training Course

2) Assessor Training Course

  • Assessor Schools give an overview of the AuctionsPlus selling platform, and enhances skills in objective livestock assessment, selling and marketing of stock, photo and video promotion, handling misdescription claims as well as discussing new market opportunities.
  • Attending a course is a mandatory aspect of the accreditation process.
  • Training course materials are designed by, and courses conducted by, AuctionsPlus staff members who have received formal education in the area of Training and Assessment in adult learning.
  • We also engage the services of Level 1 Professional Assessors to assist with the presentation of materials – utilising the skills and experience of industry experts to ensure a high-quality training experience.
  • Your attendance at a Training Course is valid for 3 years from the date of attending a physical or online school.

3) Accreditation Recommendation

  • The trainer (Level 1 Assessor) will complete the Recommendation Form
  • The trainee will complete the Request Form

4) Online Exam

  • New assessors requesting accreditation will also be required to complete a short online exam. The exam is designed to be a learning tool, most answers can be found within the User Agreement and Sale Terms, Assessor Training Course Materials provided previously and Assessor Manuals.
  • Once your Accreditation Application has been received and reviewed by AuctionsPlus, you will receive instructions on how to complete the exam.
  • Answers will be reviewed by AuctionsPlus to identify any areas where additional coaching may be required.
  • Once we determine that you have completed a satisfactory level of training, you will be granted a level A3 Assessor Accreditation.
