Nominating a Listing as a 'Featured Lot'

The new ‘Featured Lots’ offers Selling Agents an easy-to-use, integrated facility to promote their listings outside of the existing catalogue. Nominating a listing to Featured Lots significantly increases views by cycling the lot(s) through 11 high-profile locations across the AuctionsPlus website (known as Run of Site [ROS] placement).

At present, only assessed livestock may be nominated to Featured Lots

Nominating the listing to Featured Lots within Assessment Entry

When entering your initial assessment:

Assessors (or Delivery Agents) can promote a listing to Featured Lots when entering the Assessment. Once you have completed some minimum assessment entry details (Assessment, Media & Marketing tabs, with a minimum of 1 image), the assessment can be nominated as a Featured Lot (as shown below)

Once accepted, the listing will be available in the dedicated Featured Lots page and eligible for presentation upon the Featured Lots carousels displayed ROS. The nomination fee will then appear upon the AuctionsPlus invoice.

Upgrade to featured lots at a later date, including after the catalogue has been published:

Assessors (or Delivery Agents) may choose at a later time to promote their lot as a Featured Lot. As media & marketing of your Assessment can be edited at anytime, to nominate a lot, you must access Assessment Entry, and either:

  • Search for the Assessment Number
  • Review your last 5 completed assessments
  • Review your assessments grouped by auction

Once you have found the correct assessment, click "Action" and select "Add/Edit Media"
The ability to nominate your assessment as a Featured Lot is available at the bottom of your Media & Marketing page of the assessment.

Important Considerations

  • Nominating a lot to a Featured Lot, incurs a $200 AUD (excl GST) fee which will be charged, once a lot has been promoted. The fee will be labelled as a Marketing Fee on the invoice you receive from AuctionsPlus.

  • The listing will be automatically removed from the Featured Lots upon it being Updated To Sold, or the scheduled commercial sales is completed.

  • After the conclusion of an auction, if an unsold lot is reoffered, the Selling Agent must choose to re-nominate as a Featured Lot if desired, and thus will incur an additional fee. The original nomination does not apply to a reoffered lot.

  • The Featured Lot carousels positioned across the AuctionsPlus website will display a limited 5 slots at a time. However, all nominated lots are considered indistinguishable and cycle through the carousel equally.

  • The Featured Lots carousel is presented across the AuctionsPlus website (ROS) in the following locations

    • Home Page

    • Auctions Upcoming (All, Cattle, Sheep)

    • Auctions Results (All, Cattle, Sheep)

    • Browse (Commercial Cattle, Commercial Sheep)

    • Lot Details (Commercial Cattle, Commercial Sheep)
